Yurii Olshanetskyi

Bio

I am a principal data engineer and lead DBA, a role I have held since 2022, with more than a decade of experience in IT. I started my career in 2011 as a support engineer, where I built a strong understanding of production systems and operational challenges. In 2015, I moved into a Java developer role, gaining hands-on experience with application development and system behavior. In 2017, I transitioned to database automation, focusing on reliability, automation, and scalable database operations.

In my current work, I am responsible for MySQL, MongoDB, and ClickHouse platforms running on Kubernetes and EC2. I work at the intersection of infrastructure, databases, and applications, collaborating closely with core developers and data engineers, including streaming teams, to ensure that data systems are reliable, well integrated, and production ready.

I previously spoke at a conference in Amsterdam in 2019 and enjoy sharing practical, real-world experience from running and evolving data systems in complex environments.
