Suman Michael is the Technical Director for R&D at HexaCluster and the chief architect behind HexaRocket, a tool built to migrate heterogeneous databases into PostgreSQL. Building a migration engine at scale means living close to how Postgres actually stores, locks, and executes, so a lot of his work is spent reading the source and understanding the internals well enough to build reliably on top of them. He specializes in robust, data-intensive, and concurrent systems around the database core, and enjoys turning what he learns digging through Postgres into something other engineers can use. He has previously spoken at PGConf India and Migration Days, sharing his work on PostgreSQL and database migrations.
