Puneet has spent the last 14 years across Engineering and leadership roles at companies like Oracle and Percona, working with global clients including PepsiCo. He currently leads MongoDB Product and Engineering at Percona, where his focus is on bringing vector search and embeddings into the Percona Stack, giving enterprises an open-source alternative to proprietary cloud platforms for these workloads. Beyond the day job, he builds practical RAG applications to make engineering teams more productive, not just AI demos that look good on a slide. He has contributed to and launched several open-source projects over the years, including an image comparison tool built on ResembleJS and a Joomla browser extension for CMS automation. He is based in India and is genuinely into open source, databases, and QA automation- the kind of person who will happily nerd out about test flakiness or index strategy longer than most people want to talk about either.
