Gülçin started working with PostgreSQL in 2012. She was elected to the PostgreSQL Europe Board in 2017 and was recognized as a PostgreSQL contributor in 2024. In 2013, Gülçin co-founded Kadın Yazılımcı (Women Developers of Türkiye) and has been leading the community ever since. In 2023, she launched Diva: Dive into AI, an inclusive and interdisciplinary AI conference and plans for the 2027 edition are already underway. She is working at Clickhouse as part of the PostgreSQL team, lives in Prague and is the main organizer of Prague PostgreSQL Meetup.
