Dennis Kittrell leads product and engineering for MySQL at Percona. He spent the first half of his career in hosting and cloud, an industry built on open source, and the second half working only for companies whose product is an open source project.

MySQL played a critical role in the stack for most of his career before it became his job. He now owns it at Percona at a moment when trust in the ecosystem has swung hard and AI is rewriting how applications talk to data, which he thinks is either answered in the open or it is not answered at all. He is based in Málaga, Spain.
