He is the creator of dbtrail (dbtrail.com), an open-source continuous data protection tool for MySQL that lets teams query their database change history and recover data through AI assistants. Previously, he worked at Percona as a Technical Lead where he contributed to Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM) and has spoken at Percona Live Denver.

Daniel is a Database Engineer with 15+ years of experience managing MySQL and PostgreSQL in production environments. He is the creator of dbtrail (dbtrail.com), an open-source continuous data protection tool for MySQL that lets teams query their database change history and recover data through AI assistants. Previously, he worked at Percona as a Technical Lead where he contributed to Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM) and has spoken at Percona Live Denver.
Daniel also built dbsafe, an open-source CLI tool for MySQL DDL safety analysis. He writes about MySQL internals, replication, and high availability at rendiment.io.
When not wrangling database clusters, Daniel is based in Cali, Colombia, where he explores topics ranging from Latin American history to philosophy.
