Percona Live

Where the open source database community shows its work

May 11–13, 2027

Computer History Museum,
Mountain View, California

Call for papers open until March 5, 2027

Percona Live is three days with the people who keep open source databases running in production. Engineers, DBAs, SREs, and architects share what they’ve built, what they’ve broken, and how they fixed it.

The program covers MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, Valkey, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployments, and it goes past the surface. Every session follows the same rule: show the work.

What you’ll take home

  • Hear what actually happened. Postmortems, benchmarks, and migrations with the real numbers six months later, from the people who were on call.
  • Compare notes across engines. See how teams running different databases solve the same problems, and take the best answer home.
  • Get ahead of AI agents. Learn what changes for your schema, permissions, and primary when agents start querying production data.
  • Keep control of your stack. Hear how teams cut cloud costs, moved off proprietary platforms, and kept their data where it belongs.
  • Find the person who’s already solved your problem. Some of the best answers come from the conversation after the session.

2027 themes

  • Cost optimization. Right-sizing, storage tiering, consolidation, and moving off proprietary licenses or managed services.
  • Migration. Oracle to PostgreSQL, major version upgrades, on-premises to cloud and back, and cross-engine moves.
  • Sovereignty and compliance. Data residency, privacy regulation, and control over who can reach your data.
  • Databases for AI agents. Schema design for machine readers, semantic layers, vector search, retrieval, and query guardrails.
  • Identity and security for agentic access. Non-human identities, scoped permissions, auditing, and stopping prompt injection.

Open source stays open when the people running it keep showing up and sharing what they know. Join us in Mountain View.
