Have you seen this message?

WARNING: database “db” has a collation version mismatch DETAIL: The database was created using collation version 2.38, but the operating system provides version 2.30. HINT: Rebuild all objects in this database that use the default collation and run ALTER DATABASE foo REFRESH COLLATION VERSION, or build PostgreSQL with the right library version.

Why do you get this message? And what do you do when you get it? Do you really have to rebuild all objects? In this talk I will answer all these questions and give my advice for how to avoid the problems caused by collation changes.
