Finding Your Perfect Route: Vectors, Full-Text, and Geospatial Queries with Valkey

Amsterdam is one of the world’s great cycling cities, and a dataset of real Amsterdam rides turns out to be the perfect fit for a Valkey Search demo. In this session, we’ll use real cycling activity data to explore Valkey Search’s full query toolkit: geospatial filters to find rides near a landmark, numeric range queries across distance and elevation gain, full-text search over route names, and vector similarity to find rides that “feel like” your favourite. Along the way, we’ll look at when it makes sense to reach for Valkey Search rather than a dedicated vector database. You’ll leave with practical indexing patterns and code snippets you can build on.
