Beyond the Proxy: The Expanding ProxySQL Ecosystem

Modern database infrastructure increasingly spans multiple database engines, deployment models, and operational environments. The ProxySQL ecosystem is evolving to address this broader landscape, bringing together database connectivity, traffic management, high availability, testing, and production operations.
This session will explore the current state and future direction of the ecosystem. We’ll look at support for PostgreSQL and MySQL, the expansion toward DuckDB, and our continuous work to provide deeper integration with cloud platforms and managed environments. We’ll also examine how related projects such as Orchestrator and dbdeployer complement this ecosystem across the database lifecycle.
Rather than presenting a catalogue of products and features, the session will connect these components through practical operational challenges. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how the different pieces fit together, which problems they address, and how ProxySQL is evolving beyond the traditional boundaries of a database proxy.
